If you are looking to upgrade your clutch in your Toyota Landcruiser that has a 1HZ fitted with an aftermarket turbo then this is the perfect article for you. We have hand selected a number of 1HZ heavy duty clutch kits to suit various budgets and applications from a mild upgrade to maximum torque and HP.
From factory, the 1HZ produces approximately 70HP and 240nm on our Mainline dyno at the rear wheels. When fitted with one of our HD Auto turbo kits, we can increase this HP and torque number to 130HP and 350-400nm at the wheels. HZJ 80 Series – Stock 1HZ with Aftermarket Turbo Kit
Specs – Stock Fuel injection pump, no intercooler or intercooled, HD Auto, DTS or Denco Turbo Upgrade, up to 33″ diameter tyre, towing up to 2.5tonne. This kit is suitable for 90% of 1HZ users.
Exedy 6898HD 1HZ Heavy Duty Clutch Kit
This is the perfect direct factory fly wheel (275mm) replacement clutch that will suit the above conditions. This kit includes the throw out bearing, clutch disc, pressure plate, alignment tool and spigot bearing. Machining of the factory fly wheel is required for fitment. Pedal feel is as light as factory but offers reassuring engagement under harsh conditions.
HZJ 80 Series – Modified 1HZ with Turbo Kit and Heavy Towing
Specs: 150HP+ and 500nm+ with aftermarket 11mm or 12mm injection pump, intercooled, turbo upgrade such as GTurbo, UFI of other, 3″ exhaust and suitable for all towing conditions and all tyre sizes (incl. 35″ and above).
NPC HZJ80 1300nm 1HZ Heavy Duty Clutch Kit
This is the big dog kit that comes with everything from a brand new billet fly wheel, throw out bearing, clutch disc, pressure plate, alignment tool, spigot bearing and fitting hardware. This kit is built to handle anything and fits up to the 1HZ 21 spline input shaft of the H150/H151 transmission as a direct bolt up kit. This kit promises up to hold up to 1300nm of torque (more than most 1HZ could ever produce), and has a pedal as light as a feather.
This is a fantastic option when it comes to towing and large tyre sizes as well. As you increase your tyre size, and then add substantial weight to the vehicle such as a trailer or caravan, the more load the clutch has to hold, so going for the 1300nm is the perfect choice for those looking to have the most HP and torque through their 1HZ.
HZJ 105 and HZJ78 HZJ79 Series – Stock 1HZ with Aftermarket Turbo Kit
