Manta 3inch Stainless Steel Exhaust GUN150R 150 Series Toyota Prado (DPF Delete)
Our 3” exhaust system for the 150 Series 1GD 2.8 Prado replaces the entire factory exhaust system, from either the DPF, or the turbo back. The mandrel bent design, with our straight-through hotdog resonator eliminates the restrictive factory muffler & exhaust piping, offering much freer flow, and a deep throaty exhaust note with no annoying drone inside the cab.
The mandrel bends and straight through muffler or resonator on our Prado 150 Series exhaust system ensure the highest possible flow, and along with that comes maximum performance and fuel economy.
Material – STAINLESS STEEL
We supply & fit these Manta exhausts as the best sounding, best fitting option for the 150 Series Toyota Prado GUN150R
They sound just right and free up the 1GD-FTV Engine, the hotdog resonator keeps the sound from being too ‘droney’
GUN150 Toyota Prado 1GD-FTV – This Exhaust will suit a factory turbo 1GD-FTV and also directly bolt up to all of our GTurbo Turbocharger upgrades from HD Auto – Complete kit with gaskets & bolts required.
In terms of sound level Manta rate their systems in LOUD, MEDIUM’ and QUIET.
This exhaust is optioned in the medium level of noise. It is perfect for touring, towing and NO drone on the highway.
Aluminised or Stainless Steel Option?
The ‘Aluminised’ option is a coating for the mild steel, inside & out. Manta have a 2 year warranty on this but we typically expect an exhaust to last a lot longer. Still has the same Manta build quality
-Stainless is the premium option from Manta, they are the highest quality for an off the shelf exhaust, fit & look great. Stainless steel will last much longer in corrosive environments, eg. beach driving
-There’s no difference between the sound of the two.
3 Inch Exhaust Upgrade
The 150 Series Prado, powered by the 1GD-FTV intercooled 2.8L D4D turbo diesel, can easily be enhanced through the fitment of a high-flow Manta 3″ mandrel-bent exhaust system.
The restrictive nature of the standard exhaust system, which runs as small as 2” piping, effectively chokes the motor. By replacing the standard exhaust with a 3” mandrel-bent pipe there are numerous benefits realised; including improved low-down torque and responsiveness, reduced turbo lag, improved efficiency, and improved peak power.
The entire system is designed for easy fitment, following the same path as the standard exhaust system, and using all the same mounting points.
DPF Back or Turbo Back?
The latest model Hilux comes from the factory with a Diesel Particulate Filter. These are an emissions device designed to control the amount of soot emitted from the exhaust system. We have two options in our exhaust range – DPF back (similar to a “cat back” system on a petrol vehicle), or turbo back (replacing the entire factory exhaust system, including the DPF).
The turbo back system does require a recalibration of the vehicle’s Engine Control Unit (ECU) to remove certain functions associated with the DPF system. This is intended for off-road or race use only.
