Manta Exhaust System suitable for Toyota LandCruiser 78 Series VDJ78 DPF Model October 2016+
Manta 3″ exhaust system, suitable for the Toyota LandCruiser 78 Series VDJ78 Troop Carrier with the 1VD 4.5L V8 common-rail turbo diesel, DPF model from October 2016. The factory exhaust runs piping as small as 1 7/8″ through a diesel particulate filter (DPF) and a baffled muffler, so the sound of the V8 is nowhere to be heard. The Manta DPF back system runs full 3″ pipe from the DPF to the tail. The medium and loud options are turbo back systems that remove the DPF.
🚗 Suitable for:
- Toyota LandCruiser 78 Series VDJ78 Troop Carrier, 4.5L 1VD V8 turbo diesel, DPF model (October 2016-onwards)
📦 What’s Included:
- 1x Manta 3″ exhaust system. The DPF back version is full 3″ pipe from the DPF to the tail, in a pipe only configuration
- The medium and loud versions are 3″ turbo back systems that remove the DPF
- Choose your noise level: Quiet (DPF Back), Medium or Loud
🔧 Fitment Details:
- On the DPF back version the factory DPF stays in place
- The medium and loud versions are turbo back systems that remove the DPF. Tuning is required for fitment, and they are for off road use only
- The DPF back version is pipe only, so you get the most noise under full throttle. The DPF reduces sound inside the cab under light throttle and cruising, so there is no drone
⚙️ Why Choose Manta:
- Replacing the factory exhaust with a 3″ system reduces turbo lag, improves peak power and torque, sharpens response and reduces fuel consumption
- A full 3″ exhaust is rated as the best performance modification for the V8 LandCruiser, for the sound and for the improvement in driveability
- Manta is Australia’s largest exhaust manufacturer
❓ FAQs:
Q: Does the DPF stay on the vehicle?
A: With the Quiet (DPF Back) option, yes. It replaces the exhaust from the DPF to the tail and the factory DPF stays in place. The medium and loud options are turbo back systems that remove the DPF.
Q: Is a tune needed?
A: Not for the Quiet (DPF Back) option. The medium and loud options remove the DPF, so tuning is required for fitment and they are for off road use only.
Q: Will the DPF back system drone?
A: No. It is pipe only, so it is loudest under full throttle, but the DPF reduces sound inside the cab under light throttle and cruising.
