Why upgrade to the N70 1KD Ultimate High Mount Turbo Kit on your Toyota Hilux?Â
The benefits outweigh the negatives here. Both the Flex and PKS 44MM Turbochargers are extremely responsive turbos which provides optimum reliability when it comes to turbo upgrade choices. They are capable of performing up to 250HP at the wheels when fitted with +30 injectors, and just as happy to push 180HP with stock injectors and a ECU Remap or Aftermarket tuning module. Utilising a wastegated turbo removes a lot of variables when it comes to tuning, as turbo boost pressure is controlled by the wastegate and fueling only. This offers a premium when it comes to reliability as there is signficantly less to go wrong inside the turbocharger.
Should I go for a 44mm or 55mm turbocharger?
For most people, we recommend the 44mm turbocharger. This is going to offer up to 250HP and 600nNM of torque, which is plenty enough to break that poor R151F transmission. For those looking to send it a little harder, the Flex F55 turbocharger option is good for those who have an endless supply of R151 transmissions or those running a built automatic transmission in their Hilux.
What is the FLEX ‘Mini F55’ 44MM Turbocharger?
Known as the ‘Mini F55’ this turbo has an Anti-Surge compressor housing. It’s a 44MM turbocharger but looks like its big brother, the F55 Turbocharger, has an inlet whistle and is rated to 35psi.
This is best suited to 200-250hp applications. These turbos are used by industry-leading tuning workshops internationally to produce consistent, reliable and impressive horsepower

Should I go high mount or low mount?Â
This is purely bling factor. We also offer this kit in a low mount option to suit the stock turbo, but you’ve just upgraded your turbo! What’s the point of keeping it down out of the way? Show it off in a big way with this high mount turbo kit.
There are some things to note regarding fitment of this kit:Â
- Dump pipe & intake piping requires custom fabrication

Hey mate, just finished maiden voyage with everything installed, 5500km round trip with zero issues. really happy with the results, absolute animal to drive, has changed the vehicle completely and was very impressed with how the unichip tunes performed, very clean AFR, minimal/ next to no soot throughout the rev ranges, and great fuel consumption even with all the weight (touring setup), got better fuel consumption then the factory setup.
