❓ FAQs:
Q: Why is the cooler located on the drivers side?
A: A number of other aftermarket systems place their transmission cooler in front of the cold side of the intercooler. We have had a number of retired mechanics realised the effects of this and looking to upgrade their intercooler since the higher intake air temps result in less torque and the transmission come out of lockup, which makes even more heat – they ended up with both intercooler and transmission cooler from PDI.
Q: How does this compare to other brands on the market?
A: Most other Australian supplied transmission coolers kits use 4.5-5.0m of 10mm (or ⅜” 9.5mm) hose to get from the gearbox to front of the car. They also released them with restrictive, smaller coolers (16,000BTU rated) and when it was realised that their cooling was insufficient for many installs, a second cooler was added IN SERIES, which makes their heat capability close to our unit but too restrictive.
