The six cylinder 78 and 79 Series are working trucks, and most of them now carry trays, canopies, bigger tyres and heavier loads than Toyota planned for. This PDI booster replaces the factory unit with a brand new dual diaphragm booster. It’s larger than the factory one and has a higher assist ratio, so the same push on the pedal puts more force into the master cylinder.

It’s ADR tested and compliant.

• 1 x PDI dual diaphragm brake booster suitable for the HZJ and HDJ 78 and 79 Series

🔧 Fitment Details:

• Suited to trucks running a higher GVM or GCM, larger wheels and tyres, or touring, towing and off road setups.
• With the stronger booster fitted you can set the load proportioning valve (LPV) properly, rather than relying on the LPV rod spacer that many lift kits add.
• We recommend fitting braided brake lines at the same time (HZJ70 and HDJ70 braided brake lines). Line pressure goes up with this booster, and old rubber lines swell under pressure, which softens the pedal.

❓ FAQs:

Q: Does it suit the HZJ75?
A: No. The HZJ75 has its own PDI booster. This one is for the HZJ and HDJ 78 and 79 Series.

Q: Does it suit the V8 VDJ79?
A: No. The V8 VDJ76, VDJ78 and VDJ79 have their own PDI booster, in ABS and non-ABS versions.

Q: Do I need braided brake lines as well?
A: They aren’t required, but we recommend them. The booster raises line pressure, and original rubber lines can swell or fail after this many years on a 4WD.
