Factory Valve Stem Seals on the 1KD do not have anything holding them in, and essentially just rely on their firm fit in the head to remain in place. It is possible for these seals to pop out under high pressure in modified 1KD applications – Our PHC Racing Valve Stem Seals address this issue with inbuilt retainers that sit under the valve spring, holding them tightly in place at any amount of boost and power.
