The factory turbo on this engine is a low mount, so this is the kit for a standard vehicle, and it also suits low mount upgrades such as the 44mm Flex. It bolts into the factory airbox location, takes a 4″ snorkel, and comes with the plumbing to reach the turbo.

Q: My Hilux still has the standard turbo. Is this the right airbox?
A: Yes. The factory turbo on the 1KD-FTV is a low mount, so this is the kit for a standard vehicle. If your turbo has been moved up onto a high mount manifold, you need the high mount version instead.

Q: What is the MAF restrictor plate for?
A: The airbox flows more air than the factory one, and without a tune the MAF (mass airflow) sensor can misread it and leave the car feeling sluggish. Fitting the restrictor plate fixes that, so you can run the airbox untuned. Take the plate out when the car is dyno tuned to get full flow.

Q: Will it fit my snorkel?
A: The inlet is 4″, so a 4″ aftermarket snorkel connects straight on. The plastic Safari snorkel fits with a silicone reducer.

Q: Can the filter be washed?
A: Yes. A light clean takes a few minutes, and a muddy or stained filter can be washed. PSICO includes cleaning instructions with every filter.
