Running an external wastegate on a turbo diesel can be problematic. Diesel engines run high manifold pressure, which pushes most external wastegates to open early, making it hard to achieve the required boost pressures. Finally there is a practical solution with the new GenV CompGate40 HP. It’s an uprated version of the External Wastegate built for serious boost targets, making it the wastegate of choice for turbo diesel builds pushing 35psi and beyond.

This is a ground-up rework of the classic Turbosmart external wastegate, CFD-optimised and validated in-house for class-leading flow, thermal performance and fatigue resistance. The collar-locking system and variable actuator cap allow 360-degree reference hose routing, and the unit is a direct-fit upgrade for anyone running a Gen4 Turbosmart wastegate.
