Power expectations:
Stock: The non intercooled HDJ80 produces around 110HP on our Mainline Dyno
Turbo upgrade kit: Using these bolt on parts, the engine can be tuned to 150+HP / 550NM+ using the factory injector pump.
Further upgrades: With upgraded fuel pump the engine can be tuned up to 230HP / 750NM Using these bolt on parts!
Highlights of the 1HD-T Manual UFI Performance Package:
UFI 18G Turbocharger:
At the heart of the upgrade package is the UFI Turbocharger with a massive 4″ Inlet – The factory Turbo is renowned for snapping the shaft over 14PSI, so a Turbo upgrade is an absolutely necessary part of upgrading your diesel engine. The 18G sounds great and will support all the airflow your 1HD-T requires, whether using a standard or modified injector pump.
The UFI Turbocharger is ‘CT26’ Based, that means it bolts onto a standard manifold. The factory low mount turbo manifold works perfectly for this application and has more than enough flow with this Turbocharger upgrade.
Boost: The UFI Turbo has an 18PSI waste gate, by installing an adjustable boost tee, we can raise that up to target 25-26PSI or beyond as needed, increasing airflow.
PDI Intercooler:
Front mount intercoolers consistently outperform every other option – they don’t suffer heat soak and any affect on the radiator is offset by providing much cooler air into the engine. PDI are the market leaders and supply this complete bolt on kit with all piping, hose clamps and joiners.
PDI High Flow Airbox:
The high flow airbox further contributes to increasing airflow and achieving a ‘safe AFR’. The factory style airbox becomes restrictive so an upgrade is recommended. The Airbox has a durable cast body, and takes a VDJ200 Panel style filter for maximum flow.
We recommend using dry, synthetic type high flow filters like in the PDI Airbox, over the washable / oiled air filters.
Manta HDJ80 Exhaust:
A 3 inch exhaust will unlock the famous Toyota straight-six sound, support all the flow your 1HD-T needs, as well as increasing responsiveness with your turbo upgrade. The Manta exhaust is a complete kit with everything you need to fit up.
NPC 1300NM Clutch Kit:
NPC Super Heavy Duty. These are the gold standard for Landcruiser Clutches, will handle towing and heavy duty offroad use. NPC are an Australian company focused on uprated clutches for the tuning market. They don’t manufacture their own clutch materials, but they have a clever process of modifying premium Exedy Clutches to handle more torque, plus combining them with custom billet flywheels to accept bigger diameter clutches.
Upgraded pressure plate rated at 1300NM, it requires the NPC Billet flywheel upgrade which is included.
