Piggyback ECUs

Unichip is a piggyback tuning module from Dastek, a South African company with a history going back to the 1990s. It works alongside the factory ECU, reading the engine’s sensor signals and adjusting fuel, injection timing, throttle and boost, with coolant temperature protection built in.

On engines like the 1HD-FTE, the factory ECU can’t be remapped, so a piggyback module is the way to tune it. A Unichip also does things a remap can’t. With 5 Map Select you get five tunes on a switch (power, tow, economy, off-road and stock), plus the option of an immobiliser.

We’re an authorised Unichip dealer, and we’ve tuned hundreds of Unichips on our in-house dyno. Every 1HD-FTE Unichip is tuned to suit the vehicle it’s going into, and our pre-tuned modules for the Hilux and Prado 1KZ-TE and the Hilux 5L-E are built from the same work.
