What is the difference between a standard recondition pump and a performance pump?

Standard recondition pumps are built to a standard spec with a standard test plan. A standard reco pump may re-use old parts, where acceptable to do so, and only have enough work in them to either pass a test plan or operate as per the manufacture intended. That’s where a lot of people are led astray when it comes to extracting horsepower out of your mechanical diesel engine. If you are looking for the most torque and horsepower available, you need a performance pump.

A performance pump is built with that performance application in mind and completely overhauls the injector pump to deliver a specific end result such as a horsepower target. The 1HD-FT performance injection pump incorporates the use of aftermarket modified parts such as the ‘mod top’ style boost compensator with a custom machined boost pin, as well as a whole suite of modified parts to deliver you the best possible results while maintaining maximum reliability and engine safety. The added bonus of a performance pump is the range of tunability available to the tuner. With over a decade of experience in tuning these pumps and engines, the injection pumps are pretty well dialed straight off the test bench. So, while any setup still needs to be perfected on the car, you can be rest assured that minimal work will be required to get it there.

Units are sold on an exchange basis – 4 Week return policy unless we have been notified of otherwise. Core charge fee will apply if the pump is not returned. Please attach purchase invoice to properly identify your pump upon return.

Our injector pump exchange program is only available within Australia. For international customers, we rely on receiving your original pump to carry out the rebuild, as this helps us continue offering the service long-term.

Exchange injector pumps are often built to order, so there may be a lead time before dispatch. If you need one urgently, please contact us before purchasing to confirm availability.

Alternatively you can send your core to us to recondition and you will forgo the core charge.

Fitment Details:

-You are required to change your fuel filter on your vehicle to validate any warranty on this product. It is ideal that you keep your receipt for this purchase attached to this invoice. Full warranty stipulation on fuel injection products is further outlined in the warranty section of our website.

-Important note on injector pump install and timing:When rebuilding an engine, the timing gears must be set with the injector pump bolted in as per factory manual. If the gears are timed without the pump, there is a possibility of damaging the injector pump when it is put back in.
