1FZ-FE Haltech Nexus S3 ECU Starter Package suitable for Toyota LandCruiser 70 Series 80 Series 105 Series
This package is the minimum set of Haltech parts you need to run a 1FZ-FE on a Haltech Nexus S3 ECU. You get the S3 with its universal wire-in harness, a Bosch LSU 4.9 wideband sensor kit that runs off the S3’s onboard wideband controller, a 3 port boost control solenoid, an air temp sensor with a weld-on bung, a 150 PSI pressure sensor with a remote mount kit to suit the 1FZ-FE’s BSPT oil port, and a coolant temp sensor that screws into the factory 1FZ-FE port. The parts are matched to each other and arrive together.
Please note: this is not a plug and play kit. The harness is a universal wire-in harness, so it has to be wired to your engine and the ECU has to be tuned before the engine will run. Plan for an auto electrician or tuner to do the install and tune.
🚗 Suitable for:
- Toyota 1FZ-FE 4.5L six cylinder petrol engines, naturally aspirated or turbocharged
- Toyota LandCruiser 80 Series FZJ80, 1992 to 1998
- Toyota LandCruiser 105 Series FZJ105, 1998 to 2007
- Toyota LandCruiser 70 Series FZJ75, 1992 to 1999, and FZJ79, 1999 to 2006
- 1FZ-FE engine swaps into other vehicles
📦 What’s Included:
- 1x Haltech Nexus S3 ECU with Universal Wire-in Harness, 2.5m (HT-213200)
- 1x Haltech Onboard Wideband Bosch LSU 4.9 Sensor Kit for Nexus ECUs, with 1.2m extension cable and stainless weld-on bung (HT-010740)
- 1x Haltech Boost Control Solenoid 3 Port 33Hz (HT-020400)
- 1x Haltech Air Temp Sensor, 1/8 NPT (HT-010206)
- 1x Haltech Weld-on Fitting 1/8 NPT 6061 Aluminium (HT-010231)
- 1x Haltech 150 PSI TI Fuel, Oil and Wastegate Pressure Sensor (HT-010904)
- 1x Pressure Sensor Remote Mount Kit: Aeroflow 1/8 BSP to -4AN stainless adaptor, 30cm -AN4 PTFE hose and 2 hose ends
- 1x Haltech Coolant Temp Sensor, M12 x 1.5 (HT-010300)
🔧 Fitment Details:
- The Nexus S3 has 8 injector and 8 ignition outputs, so it runs the 1FZ-FE’s six cylinders sequentially with outputs to spare
- The wire-in harness is 2.5m long, unterminated, colour coded and labelled, and is wired to your engine’s sensors and outputs
- The Nexus S3 has an onboard wideband controller, so no separate wideband controller is needed. Weld the included bung into the exhaust, fit the Bosch LSU 4.9 sensor and run its 1.2m cable to the ECU’s wideband input
- The air temp sensor fits the included weld-on bung, which is welded into aluminium intake pipework
- The pressure sensor must be remote mounted on a flexible hose, not screwed into the fuel rail or block. The remote mount kit screws into the 1/8 BSPT port and connects to the sensor’s supplied -4 AN adaptor
- The coolant temp sensor has an M12 x 1.5 thread and screws into the factory 1FZ-FE ECU coolant sensor port with no adapter
- A tune is required after fitting
⚙️ Why Choose Haltech:
- 4D closed loop boost control, with launch control and anti-lag available
- Onboard wideband controller for the Bosch LSU 4.9 sensor, so there’s no external controller to buy or wire
- Closed loop fuel control with long term learning through the onboard wideband
- Multi-level engine protection and 128MB of onboard logging
- Automatic gearbox control for the Toyota A340E
❓ FAQs:
Q: Is this plug and play for my LandCruiser?
A: No. The harness is universal and wires in to suit your engine, and the ECU needs a tune.
Q: Can you help me wire it in over the phone?
A: We can’t give extended support for DIY wiring. Every 1FZ-FE build is wired differently, so the Haltech wiring diagram is the reference. Plan for an auto electrician or an experienced installer.
Q: Can I add more sensors and gauges later?
A: Yes. The S3 has spare inputs and two CAN ports for extra sensors, CAN gauges and dashes.
Q: Does it include knock sensors?
A: No. The 1FZ-FE has two factory knock sensors. Haltech say they can be wired to the ECU, but they’re an older resonant type that is prone to failure and can read erratically on modified engines. Contact us if you want to discuss knock sensor options for your build.
Q: Can I buy the parts separately?
A: Yes. Each part in this package is also listed on its own.
