- The 1HD-FT cylinder head and timing cover can be used on a 1HD-FTE Short block – Meaning this is also suitable for replacing your 1HD-FT bottom end engine assembly.
- 1HD-FTE/FT have different pistons (by referencing to part numbers), but this is not detrimental for an FT-M conversion.

About the 1HD-FTE,
- Toyota’s greatest gift to the diesel world, the 1HD-FTE 24 valve direct injection electronically controlled engine was factory fitted to HDJ79 and HDJ100 Landcruiser.
- Now revered by 4wd enthusiasts for it’s reliability off road, as well as it’s potential to be modified for greatly increased horsepower without breaking a sweat, it’s also become incredibly popular for conversions into the Nissan Patrol and other 4wd platforms.
Fitted this block to my 1995 1HD-FT and the engine now runs perfect and blow by gone.
Turbo lines needed some bending mods… and I bought a secondhand crank sensor to fill the hole. Otherwise a great update.
