🛠️ Fitment Details

• Bolts to factory CT26-style exhaust manifold & exhaust system
• Requires a larger diameter 4” induction pipe – Bolt-on pipes available for HDJ80, HDJ100 & HDJ79 Series to suit factory airbox, aftermarket airbox upgrades available for all models
• This turbo uses an aftermarket style braided oil feed line, which is supplied with the turbo

  ❌ Does not work with factory crossover pipe on 1HD-T & 1HD-FT
  
• The UFI turbo sits about 50mm further forward than a standard CT26, and is orientated in an upright position meaning your standard engine cross over pipe will no longer align, We highly recommend pairing this turbo upgrade with a PDI front mount intercooler kit for an easy install.

Five different sizing options are now available to suit your horsepower goal and application, whether its a trusty old 1HZ tourer, Daily driven HDJ100 or High performance weekender, there is an option to match your horsepower goal.

UFI 16G

• Suits: 1HD-T / 1HD-FT / 1HD-FTE
• ~200HP / 500NM (up to 270HP on 1HD-FTE)
• Better than factory turbo response, reliable replacement for CT26 failures

UFI 18G

• Suits: 1HD-T, 1HD-FT, 1HD-FTE
• 200-280HP / 700NM (up to 290HP on FTE)
• Popular all-round upgrade, strong response from ~1900RPM

UFI 21L

• Suits: 1HD-FT & 1HD-FTE
• 280-330HP / 900NM and up to 350HP on the 1HD-FTE with injectors, PDI intercooler Kit, UniChip and airbox upgrade.
• Peak torque ~2100RPM, 35PSI boost achievable from ~1900RPM

UFI 23L

• Suits: 1HD-FTE
• 350-380HP / 1000NM+
• Recommended +50 or +70 injectors
• Best choice for high-power builds while retaining drivability

UFI 24D

• Suits 1HD-FTE
• 400HP / 1100NM
• Recommended +70 injector
• Rated to a Max 36psi with gate control

🔧 Why Upgrade?

• Factory CT26 on 1HD-T & 1HD-FT is prone to turbine shaft failure above 14psi

• The stock 1HD-FTE  turbo is reliable to around the 200HP mark, but is restrictive beyond this. There is around a 10-20% further gain in power available on a standard injector with a turbo upgrade and complimentary tuning.

• UFI turbos are engineered to provide:

1. Higher airflow capacity
2. Safer boost levels for reliability
3. Strong low RPM response and broad torque curve

Q: Will this bolt to my factory exhaust manifold?
✅ Yes – same flange as CT26.

Q: Do I need to upgrade my airbox and snorkel?
👉 Not essential for 16G/18G, but recommended for 21L+ builds to maintain airflow and turbo longevity.

Q: What’s the most popular turbo choice?
🔧 The 18G and 21L as it balances response, reliability, and power.

Q: Can you install and tune in-house?
✅ Yes. We offer fitting at our Brisbane facility located in Rocklea, with UniChip tuning available on our Mainline chassis dyno.

🏎️ Supporting Mods & Tuning

• For 1HD-FT:

  • Mechanical pump tune recommended, consider our high-flow 1HD-FT injector upgrade for anything 18G and above. Not a must, but it unlocks huge potential out of the factory fuel system. They can be viewed here. 

• For 1HD-FTE

  • A UniChip ECU is required for anything over 15psi of boost pressure. As the UFI turbo runs an 18PSI wastegate, the UniChip goes hand in hand with this upgrade. You can take a look at our UniChip Pre-Tuned module here, and take a look at our 1HD-FTE tuning guide here. 

• PDI Intercooler Kit & upgraded exhaust advised for any performance upgrade. You can view our range of PDI Intercooler kits here. 

• Injector upgrades will compliment the turbocharger upgrade if you are seeking the engines full potential.

  • For the UFI 18G or above on a 1HD-FT, consider the high flow injectors upgrade as well. If you are leaning towards going with a UFI 21L, or UFI 23L on the 1HD-FT, we highly recommend complimenting the upgrade with a high flow pump as well. 

  • High flow injectors aren’t necessary when upgrading to the UFI 18G on a 1HD-FTE, however the standard injector in it’s healthiest condition will tap out around 240HP and 700NM. A +30 injector will allow you to achieve up to 290HP and 800NM on the same turbo. 

  • If you are looking to go with a UFI 21L on the 1HD-FTE, we highly recommend pairing this with a +30 injector to maximise it’s potential up to 330HP and 900NM

  • If you are looking to go with a UFI 23L on the 1HD-FTE, we highly recommend pairing this with a +50 or +70 injector to maximise it’s potential up to 380HP and 1000Nm
  • If you are looking to go with a UFI 24D on the 1HD-FTE, we highly recommend pairing this with a +70 injector to maximise it’s potential up to 400HP and 1100NM.
