Accelerator Cable suitable for Toyota Hilux LN167 5L

Accelerator cable suitable for the Toyota Hilux LN167 with the 5L 3.0 litre diesel and its mechanical injector pump, built from 08/1997 to 2001. It runs from the pedal through the firewall to the throttle lever on the pump, with the firewall bracket, adjuster and both end fittings on it. Made in Japan.

A pedal that sticks, hangs on the way back up or feels notchy under your foot is a fraying inner cable. Fit the new one, set the free play at the pump end adjuster and the throttle comes back to the stop on its own.

The 5L-E that came after it has an electronic pedal and no cable at all, so this does not suit a standard 5L-E. It is the cable you need when a 5L-E is converted to a mechanical 5L injector pump, which is a common conversion on these utes. Also called a throttle cable.
