The goal hasn’t changed since day one.

We’re here to make diesel performance accessible to the everyday enthusiast who just wants to build their car right. Our website is specifically focused on performance parts, packages and information for enthusiast vehicles we know and support.

Today, HD Automotive proudly employs a dedicated and passionate team of 15 professionals who genuinely care about the quality of their work, the products they provide, and the satisfaction of every customer. Our website is stocked with a huge range of performance parts and packages that are proven in our own workshop.

Searching for Parts
We opted not to build our website with a drop down ‘vehicle finder’ because as enthusiasts ourselves, we know what model car and engine we’ve got, and like to use the search bar to find what we’re after quickly. Otherwise we simply just want to use the categories to spend some time browsing and see what’s out there and catches our eye.

The most powerful tool on our website is the search bar.

For example, the best way to find a Water Pump for your N70 Hilux with a 1KD Engine, is simply type ‘1KD Water Pump’ into the search bar. Our sales staff use the exact same technique when handling orders over the phone.

If you want to browse for performance parts, typing in ‘1KD performance’ will also bring up any posts and information articles we have as well as performance package listings.

Adding to Cart and Checkout

The cart holds your items until you’re ready to go to the ‘checkout’ and view the freight options or total value of your order. Other items that are frequently bought together, such as gasket kits, fitment parts or upgrades that go hand in hand will pop up as recommended in the side bar.

Shipping Options Explained

Once the item has been dispatched, our team will pack your order and send it via your selected shipping method. Different items have different lead times, for example – we have a huge focus on getting a spare part like a CV shaft that is in stock dispatched from the shelf same day. Some items like turbo kits or large orders have a lead time for assembly, but the goal of our dispatch team is always try to get your order out the door as soon as possible.

Our most efficient method of communication is text message and if there is any updates or changes to your order we will communicate with you via text message.

The HD Automotive warehouse receives multiple collections every day from these freight companies:

Auspost Express
Auspost Express is the fastest and will get to all metro areas within 1-2 days. Regional can vary depending your local post service but we still find most orders arrive within 2-5 days tops unless you are really out in the sticks, like a remote cattle station.
It has a maximum size limit of 1 Meter and up to 20KG, so this may not be available for larger items like intercooler kits and exhausts.

Auspost Parcel Service
Parcel is the most economical service and will usually still arrive in 2-5 Business days (Metro).
The same size limit of 1 Meter and 20KG applies.

TNT
TNT is a Road Freight service, meaning that your items travel across the country on a truck, to the nearest depot where they are delivered to you by a local driver. TNT will deliver bulky items like Gearboxes, Intercooler Kits and Exhausts. Freight time is usually 2-4 days on the East Coast, and more like 5-9 days to get across the country to Perth.

Local Pickup
This option is available if you are located in Queensland, once your order is ready we will send you a confirmation text.

Dispatch
Once you have checked out and the order is placed you will be texted an order number. This number is used to keep track of everything related to your order, so please reference it for order status, updates etc.

Freight Protection Explained:

Freight companies are unfortunately known for having the occasional mishap, and in the event of a truck burning down or your parcel being lost, they only refund the cost of postage, not the replacement of your items. This an optional insurance service automatically added to cart with your freight, that we would highly recommend adding for peace of mind.

🌎 International customers:
Yes we can ship to you! We have proudly been supplying orders to 4×4 enthustiats on literally all corners of the globe, and this is one of the best parts of our job. The most popular destinations are USA & New Zealand, but also as far as South America, all parts of Europe and Africa.

Here are some tips for making the process easy:

Currency: The Cart Value is shown in $AUD and will convert to your local currency at checkout.

Shipping:
Worldwide shipping for anything on our website is available using the DHL network. We would highly recommend selecting DHL as your shipping option even if it is a little more expensive, as DHL is a door-to-door service. The entire process is handled by the same company and your package will not be handed off to a third party for delivery.

Please note: The shipping cost quoted on our website is not inclusive of any import duties that are applied by your country upon customs clearance, if this is your first time ordering with HD Automotive we highly recomend researching your countries import duties before placing an order with us. DHL will typically contact you via Whatsapp or email for any customs clearance updates.

Payment Method for International orders: We kindly ask that larger orders are paid for via Bank Transfer. Payment processing companies charge huge processing fee’s that can range from hundreds to thousands of dollars on a single order. Once the order has been placed we will send a payment link with our bank transfer details to your email. Always use your order number as a reference.

Warranty
All of the parts we supply are covered by a 12 month warranty, some longer if specified by the manufacturer.

In the event of a part failure, we always require the part to be sent back for inspection, so the first step is to contact us to get the correct return address and instructions. This is important because it is extremely unusual for a brand new part to fail. It not only gives the supplier a fair chance to inspect the part, it also exists to protect the customer as we can give you advice on why the part may have failed and how to prevent it from happening again. In any event, rest assured our goal is always to provide you with a satisfactory outcome.
