This PPRC bolt-on upgraded turbo is a direct replacement for the factory MHI turbo on the 4JJ1 DPF model Isuzu D-Max and MU-X. It bolts straight on in place of the factory unit, with no changes to the dump pipe, intercooler piping or intake, and no adaptor kits. That makes it the most straightforward way to get rid of the factory turbo for good and pick up real performance at the same time.

Please note: this is a wastegated turbo, so the vehicle needs an ECU tune once it’s fitted.

The problem with the factory MHI turbo

The MHI turbo fitted to the 2016-2020 4JJ1 DPF D-Max and MU-X is a known failure point. Some owners have been through as many as six replacement turbos under Isuzu warranty, and once the warranty runs out, every failure comes out of your own pocket. Fitting another factory turbo puts the same weak part back on the engine.

The PPRC 44mm bolts into the same place, so instead of fitting another factory MHI turbo, you replace it with an upgrade that’s suitable for up to 260hp.

⚙️ Performance:

With a tune, the PPRC 44mm is a safe direct replacement for the factory turbo. On the stock injectors, expect a strong-running vehicle at around 200hp, and the stock injectors make good use of this turbo at that level. The turbo itself is suitable for up to 260hp.
