The Garrett GBC17-250 is a universal turbo from Garrett’s Boost Club Line (GBC) range, rated to 250HP. It is the smallest of the three GBC turbos we stock. It runs a 36mm forged, fully machined compressor wheel with Garrett’s GTX Gen II aero, an Inconel turbine wheel and an internally wastegated turbine housing. Garrett ships it fully assembled with the actuator already calibrated, so there’s nothing to adjust before it goes on.

🚗 Suitable for:

• Universal fitment. It isn’t built for one vehicle. It suits custom turbo builds that take a T25 turbine inlet flange and a 5-bolt outlet
• Petrol engines from 0.6L to 1.5L, going by Garrett’s sizing guide
• Diesel engines from 1.2L to 3.0L. A diesel suits about double the capacity of a petrol, so a turbo that suits a 1.5L petrol is good for a 3.0L diesel. That rule stops at 3.0L
• Stage upgrades within the range: the GBC17-250 is outline interchangeable with the Garrett GBC20-300 and Garrett GBC22-350

🎯 Which GBC Should I Choose?
It comes down to how responsive you want the engine, or whether you’d rather use higher RPM. A smaller compressor comes on boost sooner, and a bigger one makes more power up top.

• 0.5 bar wastegate actuator, fitted and calibrated by Garrett (part number 480009-0009)

🔧 Fitment Details:

• Turbine inlet: standard T25 flange
• Turbine outlet: 5-bolt pattern, the same flange as the GT25 and GT28 turbos, so T28 style dump pipes line up
• Compressor inlet and outlet: the same specs as Garrett’s GT22 turbos
• Oil-cooled centre housing with a journal bearing rotor group
• Boost signal port, supplied with a plug installed
• Gaskets you’ll need (Garrett part numbers): T25 inlet 447802-0001, 5-bolt outlet 770119-0001, oil outlet 409036-0001. The oil inlet gasket is sourced separately
• Higher pressure actuators are sold separately: 1.0 bar (480009-0006) and 1.5 bar (480009-0010). Ask us if you need one

Q: Will this turbo fit my vehicle?
A: The GBC17-250 is a universal turbo, not a direct replacement for a factory turbo. It suits custom builds with a T25 inlet flange and a 5-bolt outlet. If you’re unsure, call us with your engine and manifold details before you order.

Q: Is the 250HP figure at the wheels?
A: No. Garrett calculates it from the choke flow of the compressor map, so it’s the turbo’s potential flywheel power. What your engine makes depends on its modifications and tune.

Q: What boost does the standard actuator run?
A: Garrett fits a 0.5 bar actuator, about 7 psi. For more boost, Garrett offers 1.0 bar and 1.5 bar actuators, sold separately.

Q: What’s the difference between the GBC17, GBC20 and GBC22?
A: The first number is the frame size. The larger the number, the larger the turbine wheel. The figure after the dash is Garrett’s peak power rating. All three share the same outline, so you can move up or down a size.

Q: Does it come with gaskets?
A: No. Gaskets and flanges are sold separately. Garrett’s gasket part numbers are listed under Fitment Details above.
