As much as we love our 80’s, the unfortunate reality is they are getting on to 30+ years old, most of them have half a million KM’s, and those factory gearboxes are getting a little sad. When it’s time to look at an upgrade or replacement, the typical situation in the past has been to send it into a gearbox rebuilder, spend between $5-6k, they might use some of your old parts, mix it up with some new parts, maybe you’ll get a nice working gearbox back in 2-3 weeks. We thought there had to be a better way.
We have developed a brand new direct fit replacement option to suit the 80 Series.
That means, no old used parts, no wait times, no exchange, no dramas! With the added bonus of the following:
- Our brand new H152 gearbox has a taller 2nd and 5th gear ratios compared to the H151 that came out in your 80 Series.
- The taller 2nd and 5th gear (approximate 20% reduction in RPM in 5th gear) can improve your driving experience with less engine noise and reduced fuel consumption.
Converted in our Brisbane facility and designed for HDJ80 Series Landcruiser’s, this gearbox is a bolt in replacement.
On 33″ or 35″ tyres and stock gear ratios, this will drop your RPM at 100KM per hour to 2000RPM (approx). Where as previously, it would have sat around 2500-2600RPM.
