PDI Dual Diaphragm Brake Booster Upgrade suitable for Toyota LandCruiser 105 Series Non-ABS
The 105 Series is a heavy truck to pull up, and it gets heavier once it’s loaded for touring, towing or running bigger tyres. This PDI booster replaces the factory unit with a brand new dual diaphragm booster. It’s larger than the factory one and has a higher assist ratio, so the same push on the pedal puts more force into the master cylinder.
It’s ADR tested and compliant.
Please note: this booster only suits non-ABS 105 Series, which means the Standard and RV models (the barn door wagons). The GXL, VX and Sahara have ABS, and PDI can’t upgrade the booster on those.
🚗 Suitable for:
- Toyota LandCruiser 105 Series Standard, non-ABS
- Toyota LandCruiser 105 Series RV, non-ABS
- HZJ105 1HZ diesel and FZJ105 1FZ-FE petrol
📦 What’s Included:
- 1 x PDI dual diaphragm brake booster suitable for the non-ABS 105 Series
🔧 Fitment Details:
- Check your truck has no ABS before ordering. If it’s a GXL, VX or Sahara, this booster won’t suit it.
- With the stronger booster fitted you can set the load proportioning valve (LPV) properly, rather than relying on the LPV rod spacer that many lift kits add.
- We recommend fitting braided brake lines at the same time (105 Series braided brake lines). Line pressure goes up with this booster, and old rubber lines swell under pressure, which softens the pedal.
⚙️ Why Choose PDI:
- PDI (Performance Diesel Intercoolers) have been making brake boosters since 2019. They tested the common “30% upgraded” boosters on the market before designing their own.
- Two diaphragms and a larger diameter than the factory booster give it more assist.
- Brand new, not a reconditioned factory unit.
- ADR tested and compliant.

❓ FAQs:
Q: Will it fit my GXL or Sahara?
A: No. The GXL, VX and Sahara have ABS, and PDI can’t upgrade the booster on those. It suits the non-ABS Standard and RV models.
Q: Do I need braided brake lines as well?
A: They aren’t required, but we recommend them. The booster raises line pressure, and original rubber lines can swell or fail after this many years on a 4WD.
