Q: Should I use standard size pistons or oversize?
A: At the kind of mileage diesel engines have when due for a rebuild, we find there is usually bore wear and it is rare to require standard size pistons. The most common piston size we supply is 0.50MM.
Q: What about bearing size?
A: If the crank has not been machined previously, you will require standard size bearings. If there is crank damage and it has been linished, you’ll need oversize bearings to suit.
Q: Are early and late model pistons interchangeable?
A: We are not aware of one late or early piston being better than the other or swap-able, it’s best to replace your pistons with the matching year model.
