Ultima BS1414 rear brake shoe set suitable for the rear drum Toyota LandCruiser 70 Series, from the 1984 BJ and FJ 70s through the 1HZ, 1FZ-FE and 1HD-FTE 75, 78 and 79 Series to the V8 VDJ76, VDJ78 and VDJ79 with rear drums. The same 295mm shoe was used on the 40 and 60 Series before them.

The set does one axle, four shoes. Ultima’s Advanced Ceramic formula runs cleaner than the old organic lining and does not glaze when the drums get hot behind a loaded tray. If the drums are scored or past their wear limit, we list the AAP1868 rear drum and the JB2797 wheel cylinder for the same models.

• Suits the 295mm rear drum

• Rear drum brake models only. The 76 wagon and later 78 and 79 utes with rear discs take the drum-in-hat hand brake shoes instead
• Adjust the shoes up after fitting and bed them in gently for the first 100km
• Springs, adjusters and wheel cylinders are not included

❓ FAQs:

Q: How do I know if my 70 Series has rear drums?
A: Look behind the rear wheel. A drum is a closed steel bowl with no caliper. If you can see a flat rotor with a caliper over it, you have rear discs and need the AAP794 rear rotor and the hand brake shoes instead.

Q: Does the set come with springs and adjusters?
A: No. It is the four shoes only. Reuse your hardware if it is in good shape, or ask us about the adjuster kit.
