UFI VDJ270 Gated Turbo suitable for the 70 Series V8 Toyota Landcruiser
After many years of testing, refining and engineering we are proud to present the United Fuel Injection VDJ270 gated turbo. Marking a distinct difference to the factory style of turbocharger, United Fuel Injection has opted to design this unit around a traditional philosophy of using a waste gate to control the boost pressure created by the turbo.

Bolt On
- Designed to fit the Toyota Landcruiser VDJ79 VDJ78 VDJ76 Series in both dual cab and single cab from 2007 onwards.

As a testament to it’s designers capabilities, the VDJ270 is a truly unique design featuring direct OEM style bolt on fitment matched with the renowned reliability of over 50 years in turbocharger development.
United Fuel have designed and cast a customised front compressor housing allowing OEM turbo intake and outlet pipe fitment. It is also CNC machined to accompany an engineered aero compressor wheel. This then fits into UFI’s existing bearing housing designed to house an upgraded shaft and highly durable journal twin journal bearings which have been used in the 1HD and TD42 turbo upgrade platform for over a decade. Seamless fitment to the factory exhaust manifold and dump pipe is allowed by a customised cast turbine housing.
As this bearing housing is oil cooled only, the factory water lines are looped back on themselves leaving less load for the cooling system to deal with.
Tuning Made Simple
The design boost of this turbocharger is 28PSI. This has been determined by measuring turbine shaft speed in various conditions and boost levels, as well as exhaust flow and pressure. At 28PSI, this turbo is comfortable producing 270HP and 820nNM of torque on standard 1VD VDJ70 Series Toyota Landcruiser injectors in both pre and post DPF models. It is comfortable running as low as 18PSI. When the turbocharger is controlled by something as simple as the amount of positive air pressure (boost) it’s making, it takes a a substantial amount of variables out of the ECU tuning and calibration process for optimum performance and reliability.
