Manual Hub Conversion Kit suitable for Toyota LandCruiser 76, 78, 79 Series VDJ 2016 On DPF and GDJ70
If your 70 Series runs automatic hubs, this Drivetech kit converts both front wheels to manual free wheeling hubs. It suits the 2016 on DPF V8 (VDJ) and the 2.8 litre GDJ70. You decide when the front axle is locked in, and you can lock or free a hub by hand at the side of the track.
It is a complete kit. Hubs, spindles, seals, gaskets and studs for both sides are in the box, so you are not chasing small parts halfway through the job.
⚠️ This kit suits 2016 on DPF VDJ70 Series and GDJ70 Series only. Earlier VDJ70 Series came out of the factory with manual free wheeling hubs already fitted. If you are replacing one of those, you want the Aisin FHT-001 free wheeling hub instead.

Q: Will this fit my 2009 VDJ79?
A: No. This kit is for 2016 on DPF V8 models and the GDJ70. Earlier VDJ70 Series came with manual free wheeling hubs from the factory, so there is nothing to convert. Replacement hubs for those are here.
Q: Does it fit the 2.8 litre GDJ79?
A: Yes. The same kit suits the four cylinder GDJ76, GDJ78 and GDJ79.
Q: Does one kit do both sides?
A: Yes. Everything listed above covers both front wheels.
Q: Do I need anything else to finish the job?
A: Inner axle seals. They are not in the kit and the axles come out while you are in there.
Q: Why go back to manual hubs?
A: You choose when the front axle is locked in, and a manual hub can be locked or freed by hand at the side of the track without tools.
